Plainly told, same as everything else on this site. Last updated 23 October 2026.
The Irish Heritage Press is a small Irish business. You can reach us at hello@irishheritagepress.com. These terms apply to every order placed on this website.
A personalised certificate telling the story of an Irish surname and a county, in one of three editions:
Each certificate is a cultural and historical interpretation based on established surname research and genealogical tradition, intended for heritage appreciation. It is not a legal or genealogical record of individual ancestry.
Certificates are printed exactly as typed at checkout, so please check the names, surname and county before you pay. If you spot a mistake, email us straight away. If it hasn't been printed yet, we'll correct it before it goes to print.
Prices are in euro and are the ones shown on this site when you order. For Printed and Framed editions, the delivery cost is shown before you pay. Payment is taken by Stripe when you place your order; we never see your card details.
Your Digital certificate is emailed to you as soon as it's ready: straight after payment if your surname is already in our library, or once we've researched it if not. If you choose to have it emailed to someone else on a date, they receive it at 8am Irish time on that day, and your own copy still comes to you as soon as it's ready. A Digital certificate can't be cancelled once it has been emailed.
Printed and Framed editions are made to order and posted by our print partners. Delivery times shown on this site are estimates, not guarantees. The Christmas order-by dates are our best guide from our print partners' delivery estimates; ordering before them gives the best chance of arriving in time, but we can't promise it.
If your order hasn't arrived 10 working days after the estimated delivery date, let us know and we'll send a replacement or give you a full refund, whichever you prefer.
Our print partners make your certificate as close to its destination as they can, so import charges are unusual. If your country does charge customs duty or import tax on a delivery, it isn't included in our price and is the buyer's responsibility. If that happens, get in touch and we'll help however we can.
If your surname isn't in our library yet, we research it before your certificate is made, which can add a few days. You can cancel for a full refund at any point before it ships.
You can cancel for a full refund any time before your certificate is printed and shipped, or, for a Digital certificate, before it has been emailed. Because every certificate is personalised, we can't accept returns for a change of mind once it has been printed or emailed. If anything arrives damaged, faulty or wrong because of a mistake on our side, we put it right. The details are on our Returns & Refunds page.
Your certificate is yours to keep, frame, give, photograph and share. The design and the written history on it remain ours, so please don't sell copies of it or reproduce it for commercial use.
Nothing in these terms takes away your legal rights as a consumer, including your rights if a certificate is faulty, damaged or not as described. These terms are governed by Irish law. If you live elsewhere, you keep any consumer protections the law where you live gives you.
How we use the details you give us is set out in our Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones on this page when you placed it.
